CE marking and risk assessment

At NATDIS, we provide tailored UVC-solutions for industries such as manufacturing and agriculture that require effective control of bacteria, viruses, and fungi. When you purchase a solution from us, we can assist you with CE marking and risk assessment. You can read more about these two services below.

CE marking of customised solutions

When a product is CE marked, it means that the product complies with EU legislation. It is the manufacturer of the product who declares that the product meets the requirements of the relevant directives and standards.

When we make a standard product, it is CE marked in advance. However, when we — as we most often do — deliver specially designed solutions that the customer installs in their existing system, it is the customer who is responsible for carrying out the CE marking.

We know from many of our customers that this can be a challenging task. In several companies, it can be difficult to find the right person to handle the CE marking, as UVC is a specialised field that many do not know enough about. This is where we can help.

At NATDIS, we are experts in effective disinfection using UVC-light, and we understand what it takes to create safe and reliable solutions. That is why we offer to assist with the CE marking of your new UVC-solution. We make sure the documentation meets your company’s requirements, providing a solution that is tailored to your setup.

Risk assessment for enhanced safety

In connection with CE marking, we often help our customers making a risk assessment, which serves as documentation describing any potential risks associated with using the solution. The documentation describes the entire operation procedure and explains how the solution should be used correctly to prevent injuries.

The risk assessment covers UVC control in relation to the effects of UVC-light on people, materials, and the surrounding environment. The assessment does not include power supply installation. The risk assessment is prepared as an adapted risk assessment based on AT Guideline 8.2, Risk Assessment of Machines and Technical Aids, even though UVC-lamps do not belong under the Machinery Directive.
