Maintaining a high standard of hygiene is fundamental to safe food production at Danish Crown Aalborg.
Effective hand hygiene is a critical component in food safety management. Hands can transfer microorganisms through contact with equipment, workwear, gloves, door handles, and production machinery. Therefore, hand hygiene training plays a vital role in preventing contamination and minimizing the risk of microbial spread within the production environment.
To strengthen employees’ awareness and practical understanding of hand hygiene, Danish Crown completed a hands-on training program facilitated by Natdis. The objective was to enhance employees’ knowledge of contamination prevention and reinforce best practices for hand hygiene. The training was based on real-life situations encountered in daily operations, with a focus on proper handwashing and hand disinfection techniques.
Using fluorescent glow lotion, employees were able to identify areas that are often missed during hand hygiene procedures and where microorganisms may remain. The visual assessment provided immediate feedback, making it easy to recognize where technique improvements were needed. By making an otherwise invisible risk visible, the glow lotion exercise increased awareness of how individual actions contribute to overall food safety and contamination control.
Natdis provides hand hygiene testing and training programs tailored to employees’ daily tasks and the company’s operational processes.
